Description
Brambridge is a unique wild trout and grayling fishery located on the lower Itchen Navigation, near Winchester and Southampton. The property offers 1,522 meters of double bank fishing and 8.93 acres of land, with easy access to good road and rail communications. The fishery has been in the current owners' hands since 1970 and has undergone steady improvement, with varied and interesting fishing along its 1,665-yard length. The beat features fast and calm water, as well as traditional flow, offering fishing for all skill levels. The Itchen navigation supports a wild population of brown trout and grayling, with regular and controlled stockings of brown trout by the PSFFA. The fishery has benefited from river restoration projects, including works to improve salmon spawning and create cover for small fry. The property is currently let to the PSFFA on an annual agreement, with the owners retaining one rod and the right to close the beat 12 times per year. The land is designated as SAC and SSSI, and the original towpath runs along the left bank, which is rarely fished. The property is for sale freehold, subject to the PSFFA agreement, and includes the timber, sporting, and mineral rights.
